I opened a file recently from inside AutoCAD using the IBM TRIRIGA menu > Drawings > Open Drawing From Record, which it did with no warnings. After editing, I tried to save it and got the message that the file was read only. Surely, I should have seen a warning message similar to the AutoCAD File > Open command: “\xxxx\xxx.dwg is currently in use by: xxxxx. Would you like to open the file read only?”
Not wanting to lose the edits, I saved it with a different file name. I now have two copies of the same floor plan. If I use the IBM TRIRIGA menu, it opens the original file. Questions: (1) Shouldn’t it warn you before opening the locked file? (2) How do you correctly open the latest file?
