What is the best practice to modify or copy a workflow?


I’m working on my first TRIRIGA project. After the design phase, we have identified some changes to be done on the standard business processes which involve some “as-delivered” (OOB) workflow. So what’s the best approach to do this kind of customization?

  • Modify the as-delivered workflow directly?
  • Copy the as-delivered workflow, and replace the reference from all callers? For the sub workflow, we will probably have to copy all the workflows which are in the call hierarchy, meaning there will be a big amount of work to do.

How can we minimize the version-upgrade impact on our customizations? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
