In TRIRIGA 10.2 and 3.4.2, I have noticed an issue with the “Close Window” setting on a state transition. I have a state transition which has the “Close Window” check box checked. The state transition has a sub-action which calls a workflow. When the state transition is triggered by the user clicking an action button on a form, the workflow runs and the form closes as expected. So that’s fine.
However, I have another workflow which triggers the exact same state transition using a Trigger Action task. When the state transition is triggered from the workflow, the window does not close, even though the “Close Window” option is checked on the state transition.
Is there any way of forcing the form window from which the workflow was triggered to close the window? Alternatively, is there any way of preventing a workflow triggered from an action button from closing the form window when the “Close Window” option is checked? Thank you for any help.
In the workflow, you can use a Modify Metadata task to control the closing of the window. Inside the Modify Metadata task, in the Edit Map popup, select the form in the navigation panel (the top level of the hierarchy). Then set the “Close Window” parameter as needed.
