Why doesn’t CAD Integrator 12.1.3 detect any available spaces?

I’m trying to do a smart attach from a drawing. The TRIRIGA CAD Integrator (CI) connection is OK. I can see the floors from TRIRIGA. But when I click on “OK”, CI does not detect any available spaces and the box is empty. I’m using CI 12.1.3 and AutoCAD 2014. As far as I can see, polylines are closed, and room P117 is OK. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Well, you checked the first thing I was going to suggest – make sure the boundary polyline is closed. A couple of other things to check:

  • 1) Double-check that the boundary polyline is on the layer you think it is on, and you are specifying that layer for boundaries in the attach command for spaces.
  • 2) Double-check that the label in on the layer you think it is on, and you are specifying that layer for names in the attach command for spaces.
  • 3) Verify that the origin point of the label is within the boundary polyline. Your image shows the label text within the polyline, but it is possible for the origin to be outside (probably not in your case).

If all three check out, post a follow-up and I’ll take a look at the drawing…

CI 12.1.3 still supports AutoCAD 2014 (64-bit). Another thing to check is that the boundary is flat. Sometimes a polyline is on some non-zero z value, so you might need to update the precision to see this via “PLIST”. You can always try the “FLATTEN” command on the boundary to see if that helps. CI requires all entities to be on z=0.
