How do you fix a preventive maintenance (PM) schedule?

I’m curious if anyone has TRIRIGA documentation about preventive maintenance (PM) and managing those tasks? I could only find one instruction manual on the IBM Knowledge Center site called the “Maintenance and Service Management User Guide” [PDF]. Which shows me setup. But once I make a PM schedule and the tasks kick off as planned, what then? When someone messes up making that, how do you fix it? I feel like the only way is retire and start over?
