Do chained rows present a database performance issue?


We have been told by our DBA that the t_trischeduletask table has 96% of rows chained. He is saying that this degrades I/O performance on the database. For reference, our DB block size is 8kb. Is having chained rows a performance issue? How can we fix this issue?
