How do you read a tab-delimited file from the integration object?

I am uploading a tab-delimited file and writing the data into a staging table using TRIRIGA integration object. While uploading the file, I need to restrict the number of lines that can be uploaded into the staging table. I am using DataConnect and a custom task to read the file from the binary field. But I am not able to read the file. How can we read the file from the integration object?

How do you migrate record data quickly between environments?

So I just learned that I can’t use the Object Migration tool to migrate record data between two TRIRIGA environments. For example, I have two environments on different servers on the same application and platform version. If I try to use OM to migrate the Record Data only, for instance, the Building Equipment records, not all of the associated records will get migrated and certain smart sections do not get properly migrated either.

What are some other options that I could use to quickly migrate this data? I was thinking the Data Integrator (DI) method, but that would be tedious because I have over 100,000 records.

Ideally, DI should be used for the initial load. If the data is available somewhere else, you can look into Integration Object or DataConnect. You can populate staging tables and then run the integration. In your workflow, you can have logic to create any dependent records (such as organizations or contacts) based on the staging table data.

How do you filter records by month on “Created Time” column?

How do you use a report “User” filter based on the “Created Time” column on a DataConnect table report? When you try to set a “User” filter in a TRIRIGA report by using the Filter operator “Contains” or “Equal”, it does not work. The field seems to be encoded in the timestamp, but it is displayed in text such as “10/05/2017”.

Is there a way to use the column so the end user filter on the value gets only the records created in September (“09/2017”)? Unfortunately, the general system information with the type “System Read Only” does not seem to be a date. So operators like “More Than/Equals” or “Less Than/Equals” are not available.

Is there any tool which imports currency conversion rates?

We are looking for an integration solution which allows you to import currency conversion rates. It seems that this data is not based on a BO, so I think traditional integration tools such as DataConnect (DC), Data Integrator (DI), and Integration Object won’t work. Have you seen this kind of requirement? Are there any solutions other than using SQL script? I’ve tried the SQL below, and it seems to be working.

INSERT INTO BUDGET_CURRENCY_CONVERSION (CONVERSION_GROUP, FROM_CURRENCY_CODE, TO_CURRENCY_CODE, CONVERSION_RATE, START_DATE, END_DATE, INSTANCE_ID) VALUES (‘LIBA’, ‘Chinese Yuan’, ‘Euro’, 0.13, {ts ‘2017-01-01 01:00:00’}, {ts ‘2017-12-31 01:00:00’}, BUDGET_CURRENCY_ID_SEQ.nextval)

BusinessConnect (a.k.a. Connector for Business Applications or CBA) is the best method to use for this. Here’s the PDF. The putCurrencyConversionRates method is what you would want to use.

What is the “Integration” check box for in workflow Start task?

What is the “Integration” check box for in the workflow Start task?

Assuming you are referring to the Start task of an asynchronous workflow, when this property is selected, the workflow is used to migrate data from staging tables in IBM TRIRIGA records. This type of workflow is used extensively in IBM TRIRIGA DataConnect.

Check out this IBM Knowledge Center topic about DataConnect that describes the “Integration” check box: Workflow task settings.

IV96036: DataConnect issue with same BO name in different modules

When having two business objects (BOs) with the same name in different modules, and you select the “Validate” check box on DataConnect (DC) runs, this will cause an SQL statement (built to receive a single row, the BO name) to fail, since the logic does not include the module on the WHERE clause.

The DataConnect job issue was that the File-to-DC validation logic had SQL that assumed BO names are unique, and did not account for same-named BOs in different modules. This fix includes a module name parameter to the logic, so that the SQL knows from which module to retrieve the BO. Moving forward, we resolved an integration object File-to-DC issue involving the “Validate” check box. When the “Validate” check box was selected, the validation process would fail if the BO being validated had the same name as another BO in a different module.

Why is the DataConnect staging table empty after OM import?

I have created an object migration (OM) with its workflow. The execution works well on the Development environment. But after an import of the OM package with all objects needed, the execution didn’t work on the Test environment. The object migration launch works. The triIntegration workflow launch works. The execution of the request works in SQL Server. The connection in my object migration works.

But there is no row in the staging table S_CSTPHINTERMARCHECONTRAT. Also, I see in the logs:

Calling SQL: [INSERT INTO S_CSTPHINTERMARCHECONTRAT(DC_JOB_NUMBER, DC_CID, DC_SEQUENCE_ID, DC_STATE, DC_ACTION, DC_GUI_NAME, TRIIDTX, CSSTPHHPIDRATTTX, CSTPHRETIRETX) VALUES (?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)] with params[402, 0, 1, 1, 4, cstPHInterMarcheContrat, 2013/M0166, 101GT, ]

I found the problem. The configuration of the integration object was for the Development environment and not for the Test environment.
