How do you pass a SAML link in a work task notification email?

We are using IdP-initiated SAML, and we access TRIRIGA via a link that looks something like this: http://idpprovider/applications/Tririga. Can we pass this link in FRONT_END_SERVER in TRIRIGAWEB.properties so that users can click on the link that they get in a work task email, and they can be redirected to TRIRIGA?

SAML does not support basic authentication for non-browser clients. This is a SAML limitation. See the following APAR IV88274 link.

[Admin: For convenience, here are the meanings of the acronyms: Identity Provider (IdP), Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML).]

Which email is used when sending a notification in a workflow?

I’ve found that there’s an email address in both triPeople and My Profile. Sometimes these two email address can be different. Which one will be used when I create a triNotificationHelper in a workflow to send a notification out?

Emails will be sent to the email ID present in the My Profile of the person that you intend. Both triPeople and its My Profile will always have the same address unless you explicitly change it in the My Profile record, because whenever you make any changes to triPeople by revising, it will be carried forward to My Profile when saved or activated.

How do you get notifications of events in your external email?

“Whenever a user submits a request for resource reservation, he gets a notification in his portal. However, I am not able to get that notification in a personal email like abc@gmail.com. I have added this email in the user profile. Also, in the notification window, it shows that the external mail is abc@gmail.com. But I am still not able to get any emails if I login in that email account.”

I have a similar question as well. I would like the service technician to get an email notification if the work task has been assigned to him. Is that possible in TRIRIGA?

How do you configure parameters in TRIRIGA notification content?

I’m a new TRIRIGA developer. I don’t know how the parameters are passed in the notification content. For example, for {1}, how do I pass the parameters to it? In addition, TRIRIGA develops too little material for learning and how to get useful information.

The template for the notification content record is in the Details section. To set the content, you need to use a record based on the triNotificationHelper BO in the triHelper module. There is an excellent write-up in the Application Building for the IBM TRIRIGA Application Platform 3 [PDF] user guide in the IBM Knowledge Center. Take a look at Chapter 12: Notifications.

IV96787: Retiring contract does not retire change orders or invoices

If you try to retire a contract that has a change order or invoice, the system should consider it, provide some logic to it, and/or provide a notification that you can’t retire it. The same should apply when you try to retire a change order that has other change orders or invoices associated to it.

The standard contract record that is in a Completed state cannot be retired if it has pending standard contract change orders or contract invoices associated to it. (The expectation was that the associated records would also be retired, or if not, a notification stating that they would not be retired.) Moving forward, the issue has been resolved by displaying an Attention message to the user that the standard contract cannot be retired because of the pending change orders or contract invoices. Also, the Retire and Delete actions on the change order form have been removed, so the user will not be able to retire the change order.
