What is the IBM TRIRIGA Support best practice for SRs and PMRs?

IBM TRIRIGA Support works on addressing problems through a problem ticketing system where each issue is logged as an IBM Service Request (SR) or Problem Management Report (PMR).  We manage problems reported via this process.

IBM TRIRIGA Support provides a support landing page titled “IBM TRIRIGA Information and Support Resources” which has a lot of very helpful information. This page has a Support Resources Home section that provides numerous links to some great resources, including a link to our IBM Service Request system, where you can open a Service Request (SR). On the “IBM TRIRIGA Information and Support Resources” page, there are also IBM Support phone numbers.

Once an SR/PMR is opened, it can be tracked for updates via the SR tool.  You may also request an update at any time and this will notify the Support team to follow up with you as soon as possible.

For the most efficient IBM TRIRIGA support experience…

  • There should only be one problem per SR/PMR per customer environment. This helps to keep the focus on a particular issue…
  • SRs/PMRs also have the concept of “severity”. This is a ranking that is set by the customer to indicate the urgency and importance…
  • When opening your SR/PMR, try to be as complete as possible and provide as much of the critical information as possible…

[Admin: This post is related to the 07.14.15 post about collecting data to resolve PMRs, the 07.07.15 post about resolving PMRs as soon as possible, and the 04.26.17 about outlining the process for SRs, PMRs, and APARs.]

Is there a way to specify the order of results in OSLC JSON output?

Is there any way we can specify the sequence of resource attributes to appear in the JSON-formatted Get query output? We are looking for a pre-defined set of ordered resource attributes to appear in the OSLC Get query output.

You should be able to use the oslc.orderBy parameter to define the ordering of results. If you are talking about the default ordering without that parameter, then I think the query definition of the query capability should define the ordering.

IV93595: Workflows in selecting a work resource is not optimized

Go to Tasks > Manage Work Tasks > Work Task. Click Add for a new work task. Create the draft. Go to the Resources tab, and click Find Organization. Select Organization and click OK. The Resources page takes 6-8 seconds for it to refresh and be available to the user for further action.

This process is a synchronous process. The time it can take to perform the action can vary based on the number of records being selected.

[Admin: A similar article is posted in the IBM Support Portal about slow performance when selecting an organizational resource for a work task. This post is related to the 02.01.17 post about a long-running workflow that hangs the form, and the 02.06.17 post about the TRIRIGA Workflow Analysis Utility. IV95429: Legacy-applet Resource Manager is having issues

We cannot assign resources using the Resource Manager.

The resource data needed to be sent to the Legacy Availability section applet correctly. Moving forward, several issues were fixed in the Legacy Availability section. One issue prohibited loading when there was resource data, while another issue caused the assignment of a resource to a task to fail and spin indefinitely.

IV94361: Queries use all database resources after upgrade to 3.5.2

After upgrading to TRIRIGA 3.5.2, customers may see similar queries being fired from report runs, and may get system freezes afterward since the database will be extremely busy executing them…

When applying Geography or Organization security, a group with root level \Organizations and a geography set at a low level like \Geography\North America\USA\Nevada\Las Vegas will no longer apply an Org-level security check on queries. The same goes for security groups unrestricted at the Geo-level, but set at a low level of the Org. The security check will be applied on a Geo and/or Org basis based on the root-level security setup for the Geo and/or Org.

Why isn’t Admin Console “System Manager” panel showing “Edit”?

When I go to the System Manager panel of the IBM TRIRIGA Admin Console, “View” appears, but not “Edit”. What is causing this and how do I fix it?

If your application server is configured to use Resource References for configuration files, the TRIRIGA “config” directory will not have been added to the TRIRIGA application CLASSPATH. Unless your application server’s Resource References is told where to look for TRIRIGA configuration files, you will not be able to configure files through the TRIRIGA Administrator Console…

What third-party ERP software can be integrated with TRIRIGA?

I’m looking for any information on what third-party tools can be integrated with TRIRIGA, specifically, ERP systems like CGI’s Momentum and other construction-based tools. I’ve looked at the IBM TRIRIGA Compatibility Matrix, but I’m sure the list isn’t as complete as the work that’s been done.

Here are a couple of links that might point you to the right people. In each post, click “Continue reading” to see the original Facebook discussion. From there, the TRIRIGA group members might offer further info. Good luck!

Why don’t all resources display when creating a reservation?

When you create a reservation, for example, a Location Reservation, some of the resources do not display on the Find Available Times tab of the reservation.

By default, only 50 rows display when the Find Available Times tab of the Availability section of a reservation is rendered. If there are too many results, a warning about exceeding the row size is displayed. Your administrator can change the maximum number of rows that display by changing the AVAILABILITY_SECTION_ROW_LIMIT property in TRIRIGAWEB.properties. As noted above, the default value is set to 50 rows. If set to 0, -1, or other invalid value, the default number will be used.

Warning: If the property is set too high, performance issues might occur when rendering. Large values might cause memory issues. It is recommended that you update the backing reserve queries to reduce results or design filters that keep the number of record results under this value. Any value above the max value of 500 will be set to 500.
